Who said you need to be an interior designer or architect to come up with fabulous ideas on how to improve the look and feel of your bathroom. Many top designers, artists, and architects research images of small bathroom designs and then borrow ideas of what works well in their own projects. Don’t go and reinvent the wheel, remember if it aint broke why fix it? When it comes to redoing your bathroom one of the best ways to get fresh ideas on how to bring your bathroom to life is through collecting bathroom designs and photos that you like from all over.

Finding bathroom designs and photos

As you may have already guessed it using the Internet is probably one of the fastest, most convenient, and easiest ways of finding small bathroom photos. Start off by going to Google and doing an image search. Try typing in combinations of words using the plus symbol so that you get more accurate search results. For example “Bathroom + designs” or “Bathroom + color ideas”. Be creative and these searches should turn up some pretty impressive results. On your computer make a folder to store all your found photographs and before you know it you’ll have built up an excellent resource of design inspiration and ideas. Other great ways to get photos would be to snap photos of bathrooms you find that you love when you’re out in the town. There are also magazines dedicated to bathroom designs and photos where you can clip out the photos from for your reference.

Benefits of using photos to come up with ideas
One of the best things about using bathroom designs and photos to help get you thinking is you may find items being used in ways you may have never imagined before. Some examples may be how someone has used a specific colour scheme or a specific style of shower curtain or lighting fixture. When you’re working with someone or even if you’re doing the design upgrade yourself you’ll want to be able to show people what exactly you are going after. Trying to explain design with words can be quite challenging but with bathroom design photos there is no room for misinterpretation and you’re much more likely to get the exact results you’re after!

Bathroom Design Photos – Find Them

People on this blog continue to ask me about how to find small bathroom design photos and pictures. As I’ve said many times when researching how to design or model your small bathroom using photos of what others have done successfully can be one of your best bets.

What I decided to do today is look around the internet for some good interior and bathroom design websites as well as magazines where you might be able to find some good photos and pictures. It always amazes me on how much you can find just by going online or even better going to your local bookstore to find great magazines. For about $5 you can pick up literally thousands of design ideas that you can use when remodeling your bathroom area.

One really good resource I found was the website About.com they actually have a great little section all about bathroom renovation including photographs, pictures, models and more. They also have nice little list of different design related websites that you can visit to find even more useful information and inspiration for your next remodel. Check out that section of the website here at http://architecture.about.com/od/homemagazines/Home_Design_Magazines.htm

Bathroom Decor – 3 Steps to Consider

One of the most popular home improvements around today is the remodeling or upgraded design of your home bathroom. When it comes to bathroom designs you can decide to invest as little or as much money as you want into making your dream bathroom come to life. Here are a few steps you’ll want to consider when doing bathroom renovation.

What is the purpose of the new design?
What exactly are you looking to achieve with this upgrade? What vision do you have for the bathroom when it’s completed? Are you doing the remodel and new design to increase the investment value of your home? These are all questions that need to be answered in detail if you want to have a successful bathroom design that you are happy with and meets your desired needs.

Research and find bathroom ideas
Now more then ever it’s easy to find ideas and inspiration when it comes to designing your bathroom. The web is a fabulous resource to do research; find photos, videos, reviews, and much more on anything related to your bathroom designs. You can also go to your local magazine shop and find many great magazines on interior design and even bathroom design. Clippings from these magazines can serve as inspiration for you when it comes time to start your remodeling. You can also show your research to the contractor that you end of working with for the renovation.

Set yourself a budget
Redesigning bathrooms can definitely add to the overall value of your home. As with many things you can keep spending more and more money to get exactly what you want but sometimes that can dig very deep wholes in your pocket and rack up a big debt. When it comes to choosing a budget you need to consider if the work you’ll be doing is going to be a major upgrade or more on the minor side. If it is major then you may even need to consider a loan. A major bathroom design upgrade can run you in the price range of about $10, 000 USD. To come up with a realistic budget decide what kind of elements you’ll be upgrading. Consider if you’ll need new fixtures, sinks, bathtubs, tiling, etc. All of these items will increase or decrease the budget that you come up with so prioritize.

Designer Bathrooms you can Afford

Bathrooms are one of the most often used rooms in our home but when it comes to their design they are often most neglected. designer bathrooms are used as a private retreat for refreshing, relaxing, and having some private time to contemplate. If you consider your bathroom space as a place to relax and unwind you’ll be surprised with the design ideas you can come up with. Adding some mood or atmosphere to your bathroom doesn’t have to be expensive it just needs to be considered.

There are literally thousands of options when it comes to upgrading your “normal” bathroom into a small bathroom design getaway for you, your family members, or your guests to feel relaxed in. With a bit of research and use of imagination you will quickly be able to transform your bathroom into another well designed room in your home or apartment.

Choosing the right color schemes
One of the first and most simple steps you can take to spice up the look of your small bathroom is to consider its color scheme. Many people don’t even think about this and this can be one reason why your bathroom doesn’t seem well designed. Consider matching the colours of your decorative elements such as towels, cups, shower curtains, toilet seat covers and rugs. For example if you have a mostly white tiled bathroom, consider buying elements in one color that contrasts against the white setting. Some examples that would work well are blacks, oranges, and reds. A quick tip is to spend some money on a nice towel set in one colour. This step alone will make a world of difference.

Bring some nature into the mix
Humans are able to quickly relax when surrounded with a bit of nature. When we’re in the bathroom it’s no different. Adding plants to your small bathroom designs will really spice things up and give you that natural feeling that you are looking for. Remember when buying plants to consider which ones can survive in damp and indoor environments. Many bathrooms don’t have much natural light so focus on nice looking greens that don’t need too much sunlight. Cactuses are a great example of greenery that can do wonders to the appearance of your bathroom designs.

So get the thought out of your head that spicing up the look of your bathroom takes lots of time, money, and renovations. With a little bit of creativity you’d be surprised at what you can do with your existing small bathroom design.

Bathroom Renovation – Great Ideas

With prices of real estate as high as they are most people are not able to afford spacious houses unless they move far into the suburbs or have deep pockets. With smaller places come smaller bathrooms. But just because you have a small bathroom doesn’t mean you shouldn’t consider its design. There are a wide range of design ideas that you can apply to your small bathroom to add space, style, and character. Remember with small bathroom design the main goal you’re going after is giving the room a feeling of openness. Below are some of the elements to consider when designing your small bathroom.

Using light colors
Consider using light colors for the tiling, paint, and counters – this will give the room an open feeling. Also by using light colors in your design the room will have feeling of warmth and happiness and which will add to it feeling less crowded.

Windows and mirrors
If you are lucky enough to have a window or are able install one in your bathroom this will really give the room a spacious feeling through the natural light. Also with the creative use of mirrors you can give your room the illusion of more space but be careful no to overdo the use of mirrors or your design will really become tacky.

Be creative with storage space
Consider using a cabinet under your sink. The space under your sink is often not being put to use and if you install a simple but stylish cabinet you will save space and also be able to store your bathroom amenities.

Smaller bathtubs or toilets
These days there are many well designed space saving “slim” toilets out there so do your research. You also may want to consider only having an enclosed shower and get rid of your bathtub altogether – this will really start freeing up space. If you really feel you need a bathtub then find a tub that is deeper rather than longer. You will still be able to enjoy your bath time without taking up half the bathroom just because you have an extra long tub.

Bathroom Design Ideas

As you start to work on your small bathroom designs they may not always be as easy as you were hoping for. Things that you thought may cost not so much or were not planning on may come up and it may be way more time consuming than you imagined. If you have clear ideas of the kind of modern bathroom design that you are going after it may not be as much as a problem.

First of all don’t concern yourself so much about space. I have heard so many people complain that they can’t come up with a good small bathroom design ideas just because they have a tiny space to work with. Do your research and gather good small bathroom pictures and I guarantee you that you will be able to come up with a design that suits your needs and is something you were going after. You don’t need to be a home improvement specialist to do some pretty neat things with your bathroom.

Also when we’re speaking about small bathroom design and space, start off by clearing out all your unnecessary junk in your bathroom area. You’d be surprised how much junk and unused items people leave lying around. This will just make you bathroom designs feel a bit crowded. When looking around for bathroom design ideas just clear out your room and start from square one. Take time and look at the space you have to work with and you’ll be surprised what comes to mind.

Another great bathroom design idea is using plants in your bathroom renovation or upgrade. I truly love a simplified look with a few plants in there. Plants alone can do wonders to your design if you are just going after a natural and simplified look. If you want to take that look to the next level I recommend adding some candles and incense to make it even more special.

Your Style – Small Bathroom Designs

When it comes to expressing your self there are many ways you can do it and your home small bathroom designs should be no different. It really just comes down to themes and the way you choose to model your bathroom.

Some people just seem to accept the bathroom design or model that came with their house when they bought it. That’s fine too, but imagine if you could really spice up your bathroom and make it a place to relax as well as something that your guests would be marveling at?

As any of you who often read this blog may already know I am a firm believer of searching out and finding good bathroom designs and photos before you try anything on your own. If you do this you’ll have a clear picture as well as some good inspiration. Also by using bathroom design photos you will find great themes that you may have never even thought of.

The theme or small bathroom design that I want to talk about today is the ultra modern design. Basically society these days is moving at a rapid pace and to reflect this many families or individuals are designing high tech style bathrooms. The way you can achieve this look is just by using a lot of grey and black colored products and vanities. You can also buy and install cool high tech objects like shower heads, auto-baths, and the interesting toilets that you can find in Japan. These toilets have all sorts of high tech buttons for cleaning up after you’re done your job.

Another way to add some calm into your new high tech small bathroom designs is to have some background music. You can achieve this effect buy wiring speakers into your bathroom from your main system or you can just buy a cheap CD player and leave the calming bathroom music looping in the background as people do their thing in your new model bathroom.
